This motorcycle trip takes you on a scenic journey through Bhutan, starting with a pickup from Bagdogra and a drive to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. From there, the adventure continues on bikes as you ride through beautiful mountain roads to Thimphu, the capital city, and then to Punakha, known for its valleys and rivers. You will also explore the peaceful Gangtey/Phobjika region, famous for its natural beauty and calm surroundings, before riding onward to Paro.
In Paro, you can choose to hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery or enjoy a bike ride to Cheela Pass for stunning views. The journey then returns by bike from Paro to Phuentsholing, followed by a drop back to Bagdogra on the final day.


Itinerary

Day 1 / PICKUP FROM BAGDOGRA DRIVE TO PHUENTSHOLING: 160 KM/4 HRS
As soon as you arrive, you will be picked up from Bagdogra and driven to Phuentsholing, the gateway town of Bhutan. The journey covers about 160 km and takes around 4 hours. Along the way, you can enjoy scenic views as you enter Bhutan and relax after reaching Phuentsholing, where you will check in and rest for the night.
Day 2 / RIDE FROM PHUENTSHOLING TO THIMPHU: 150 KM/4 HRS
On this day, After breakfast, you will start your bike ride from Phuentsholing to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The ride is about 150 km and takes around 4 hours, passing through beautiful landscapes and small towns along the way. Once in Thimphu, you can explore the city, enjoy the local culture, and settle in for the night.
Day 3 / RIDE FROM THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA: 80 KM/2 HRS
On this day, after breakfast, you will ride from Thimphu to Punakha, covering about 80 km in roughly 2 hours. The journey takes you through scenic mountain roads and beautiful valleys. After reaching Punakha, you can relax and explore the town, known for its stunning Punakha Dzong and peaceful riverside surroundings.
Day 4 / RIDE TO GANGTEY/PHOBJIKA AND BACK TO PUNAKHA: 80 KM/2 HRS 30 MINS - ONE WAY
On this day, after breakfast, you will take a bike ride from Punakha to Gangtey/Phobjika, which is about 80 km and takes around 2 hours 30 minutes one way. This scenic ride takes you through beautiful valleys and lush landscapes. In Gangtey/Phobjika, you can enjoy the serene surroundings, visit the famous Gangtey Monastery, and then ride back to Punakha to rest for the night.
Day 5 / RIDE FROM PUNAKHA TO PARO: 130 KM/4 HRS
On this day, after breakfast, you will ride from Punakha to Paro, covering about 130 km in around 4 hours. The journey takes you through stunning mountain roads and picturesque valleys. Once you reach Paro, you can relax and start exploring the town, which is famous for its historic sites, monasteries, and scenic beauty.
Day 6 / PARO (HIKE TO TIGER’S NEST) OR RIDE TO CHELE LA PASS: 40 KM/1 HR – ONE WAY
On this day, after breakfast, you have two exciting options in Paro. You can either hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched high on a cliff, and enjoy breathtaking views along the way. Or, you can take a bike ride to Chele La Pass, about 40 km one way (around 1 hour), which offers stunning mountain scenery. After the activity, you will return to Paro to relax for the night.
Day 7 / RIDE FROM PARO TO PHUENTSHOLING: 150 KM/4 HRS
On this day, after breakfast, you will ride from Paro back to Phuentsholing, covering about 150 km in approximately 4 hours. The journey takes you through scenic mountain roads and valleys, giving you one last chance to enjoy Bhutan’s beautiful landscapes. Once in Phuentsholing, you can relax and prepare for your departure the next day.
Day 8 / DRIVE FROM PHUENTSHOLING TO BAGDOGRA FOR ONWARD JOURNEY: 160 KM/4 HRS
On this day, your trip concludes with a drive from Phuentsholing back to Bagdogra, covering around 160 km in about 4 hours. You will leave Bhutan and head towards Bagdogra for your onward journey, taking with you memories of the beautiful landscapes, cultural experiences, and adventures from the trip.
