AGRA
It is only but most appropriate to start exploring with one of the most visited monuments in the world, the Taj Mahal, which is also one of the seven wonders of the modern world. It’s a perfect place to visit as a day trip from Delhi or the start of your tour to India.

FATEHPUR SIKRI
This 16th Century city was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar. Located at a distance of around 36 km from Agra, the city is particularly famous for its forts and monuments with stunning architecture.

Places To Visit: Panch Mahal, Diwan-i-khas, Buland Darwaza, Jodhabai Palace, Lotus Throne.

LUCKNOW
The present day capital city of the state was once the capital city of the princely kingdom of Awadh. And it remains the cultural capital of the region with a fusion of colonial and Mughal architecture, amazing Awadhi cuisine, handloom, arts and crafts, and music.

VARANASI
Visiting the oldest living city in the world also known, as Benares is a spiritual experience. On the banks of River Ganges with its many ghats, the aarti performances, the boat rides against the perfect sunrise and sunset, the religion, faith and the rituals, temples, the street food and much more defines this city.

SARNATH
Close to Varanasi, around 10 km lies the town of Sarnath. It was here that Buddhism was founded by the Buddha in 525 BCE

Places To Visit: Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sarnath, Manikarnika Ghat, Archaelogical Museum, Tulsi Ghat and the Wrestler’s Akhada, Ganga Aarti in Dasaswamedh Ghat.
In Sarnath: Chaukhandi Stupa, Sarnath Museum, Deer Park, Thai Temple, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, Dhammek Stupa, Tibetan Temple.

KUSHINAGAR
Kushinagar is an ancient city and a popular Buddhist pilgrim center. This was the place where Lord Budhha delivered his last sermon. The place also finds a mention in the Chinese traveler’s Hieun Tsang’s travelogues.
Best Time To Visit: October to March.
Places To Visit: Sun Temple, Mahaparinirvana Temple, Kushinagar Museum, Ramabhar Stupa, Chinese Temple, Wat Thai Temple.
How To Get There: Well connected by road. The nearest railway station and domestic airport is in Gorakhpur around 50 km away.

MATHURA
Located on the banks of river Yamuna, the city of Mathura is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna and hence it is one of the seven most sacred places for the Hindus. This ancient town was earlier a Buddhist centre with around 20 monasteries but with over time and with the rise of Hinduism is largely a temple town with Krishna as the main deity.

VRINDAVAN
Vrindavan is located near Mathura at a distance of 10 km. These twin cities are considered holy and have many ancient temples dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Best Time To Visit: October to March (esp. during the festival of Holi, which is in Spring).
Places To Visit: Krishna Janambhoomi Mandir, Jama Masjid, Dwarkadish Temple, Kusum Sarovar, Radha Kund, Kans Qila, Mathura Museum, Govind Dev Temple, ISCKON Temple, Kesi Ghat.
How To Get There: Mathura is well connected by rail and road. The nearest airport in Agra is 58 km away.

PRAYAGRAJ
Formerly known as Allahabad, the city is an important centre for the Hindus, as it is believed that the Lord Brahma, the creator landed at this place on Earth. The city is located at the confluence of the three rivers – Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical river Saraswati. The city is also famous for hosting the mega Kumbh Mela once every 12 years.

Places To Visit: Triveni Sangam, Khusro Bagh, Allahabad Museum, Allahabad Fort, Patalpuri Temple and Akshaya Vat, Jawahar Planetarium, Anand Bhavan.

AYODHYA
The ancient city of Ayodhya is believed to be he birthplace of Lord Rama and hence it is considered to be one of the holiest places for the Hindus. With the recent Supreme Court judgement resolving the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi dispute, the construction of the temple for Lord Rama is in full swing.

Places To Visit: Moti Mahal, Kanak Bhawan, Hanuman Garhi, Ramkot, Treta Ke Thakur, Gulab Bari, Faizabad Museum.
How To Get There: Well connected by rail and road, the nearest airport is in Lucknow 150 km away.
